Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 1, 2025
Stratiom ("Stratiom," "we," "us" or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or use our services, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.
Stratiom is a U.S.-owned web hosting company based in Winchester, Virginia. We provide our services only to customers with billing addresses in the United States.
1.Scope
This policy covers our website at stratiom.com and our customer billing and account portal at my.stratiom.com. It does not cover the content of websites that our customers host with us. Our customers control that content and are responsible for it under our Terms of Service. This policy also does not cover third-party websites we may link to.
2.Information We Collect
Information you provide to us. We collect the information you choose to give us, including when you:
- Submit our contact form. We collect your name, email address and the contents of your message. Form submissions create a support ticket in our billing platform so we can respond.
- Create an account or buy a hosting plan or domain name. We collect your name, email address, mailing address, phone number and account login credentials.
- Make a payment. Our payment processor collects your billing details and payment card information to process your transaction. We do not store complete payment card numbers on our own systems.
- Contact support. We keep a record of your support requests and our correspondence so we can help you and improve our service.
Information we collect automatically. When you visit our website, we and our analytics provider automatically collect certain technical information. This may include your device and browser type, operating system, the pages you view, the website that referred you, your general geographic area and the dates and times of your visits. Because we host our own website, our web servers also keep standard log files that may record IP addresses, browser details and request information for security and troubleshooting.
Domain registration information. If you register a domain name through us, you must provide registrant contact information. As required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), we share this information with the applicable domain registrar and registry. Some of it may appear in public domain lookup records unless a privacy protection service applies.
3.How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate and maintain our hosting, email, domain and related services.
- Process your payments and manage your subscriptions and account.
- Respond to your questions, support tickets and other requests.
- Send you service and account messages, such as billing notices, renewal reminders and important updates about your service.
- Monitor, secure and improve our website and services.
- Detect, prevent and address technical issues, fraud and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
We limit our collection of personal information to what is reasonably necessary for these purposes. We do not sell your personal information.
4.Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use our site. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device.
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to measure and report on website traffic. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay and how you arrived at our site. This helps us understand which content is useful and how to improve our website. Google Analytics is configured so that it does not store your full IP address, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
The information generated about your use of our website is processed by Google. To learn how Google uses this information, see "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partners.
You have choices about analytics cookies. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of our website work.
5.Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting that signals websites not to track your online activity. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals. Our website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. You can still control analytics cookies using the options described above.
7.Data Retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide our services. After your account is terminated, we retain your data for 30 days before permanent deletion, giving you time to retrieve important files. We may keep certain information longer when required for legal, tax, accounting or security purposes.
8.How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse and alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. We encourage you to use strong passwords and to notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.
9.Your Choices
You have choices about your information:
- Review and update your account. If you have an account, you can review and update your contact and billing information at any time by logging in at my.stratiom.com.
- Analytics cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the options described in the Cookies and Analytics section above.
- Marketing email. If we send you marketing email, you can unsubscribe using the link in those messages. We will still send you messages about your account and service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. California residents can find the categories of personal information we collect and the parties we share it with in the sections above.
If you have a question or request about your personal information, contact us at privacy@stratiom.com or through our contact page.
10.Children's Privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to open an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11.Links to Other Websites
Our website may link to websites we do not operate, including those of our customers and partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
12.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on our website and revise the effective date above. For significant changes, we will provide additional notice, such as by email. Your continued use of our website or services after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
